If you’re going somewhere on honeymoon that will involve swimming – or indeed, just lying on the beach – then chances are you’re thinking of treating yourself to a new swimming costume. In my opinion, Figleaves has one of the best selections of swimwear online – they have a really good range of brands and prices, with options ranging from plain and simple to rather quirky, so I’d definitely recommend checking them out for ideas. Those featured below are my favourites, though there were many more that I would’ve quite happily featured.
Swimsuits
If you don’t feel comfortable bearing as much flesh as you would in a bikini, then there are some great swimsuits available that are just as sexy – if not more so.
I love the one-shoulder, ruffled strap of this swimsuit, which elevates it from being plain to quite sophisticated. If you’re a little worried about how you look in a cossie, then the “shaping control” in this suit may help you feel a bit more confident, plus there’s concealed cups for a little extra support.
There’s nothing like a tropical print to really make you think “holiday”, and this strapless swimsuit has a real playfulness about it. Underwiring is built into it, which is great for a little extra support – now all you need is a warm sea to go and splash about in.
I love swimwear that feels a little bit retro, with an understated sexiness. This one’s very simple (though it’s reversible, so you get a choice of two colours), but really quite striking and elegant.
Bikinis
There’s a really cute 1960s feel about this bikini and I particularly like the wide bandau top to the bottoms. The print is great – just enough colour to stop it from being dull, but without making it too fussy or in-your-face.
I love a bit of nautical chic – and this bikini is just perfect for a seaside honeymoon, whether you’re headed to the Caribbean or the Côte d’Azur. This bikini is also available in black – but I love the brightness of it in cherry red.
This is just such a fun, cute bikini which can be worn either strapless or as a halterneck. I love the combination of polka dots and frills, but it still has a wonderful understated glamour about it.

Nice shots! Now, where to wear them too? Costa Rica (my top choice) is in its rainy season in Sept 2011. Is there anywhere else in Central America where I can stay dry in Sept?
Hmm, September pretty much means rainy season throughout Central America, unfortunately. In a lot of places, including Costa Rica, the rains get particularly heavy during Sept. On the plus side, prices will drop during this time of year – it just depends whether you fancy risking the rains. If you’re after beaches and wildlife then southeast Asia could be a good alternative.

Yes, I am. You’ve hit the nail on the head. Can you give me your top 5 pics in Southeast Asia, and I will go research them a bit? Thanks!
Hi,
As parts of southeast Asia are also during their monsoon period in September, it does still limit things a little bit. However, one of the best (if not the best) places in the region for wildlife is Malaysia – and the monsoon doesn’t tend to hit until November over there, so that’s perfect for you. I would suggest something like kicking things off in either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore (if you go to Singapore they have a fantastic, and very humane, zoo), before heading over to Sabah, on the island of Borneo. Here you’ve got an excellent choice of beachy hotels, plus it’s easy to get into the jungle (lots of the hotels, and a good range of tour operators offer trips there), and there’s a very famous orang-utan sanctuary at Sepilok that’s definitely worth a visit. You’d also be there during the peak nesting period for turtles so I’d definitely recommend heading over to Turtle Islands National Park to see this – it’s amazing. Alternatively, you could head into Taman Negara national park in Peninsula Malaysia – though you’d probably have to do an overnight trek to guarantee seeing animals. Beach-wise, apart from those in Sabah, you could check out Pulau Tioman (see my post earlier this week for a great place to stay), the Perhentian islands further north, or on the west coast, the islands of Langkawi and Pangkor. If you’re into snorkelling or diving, the waters around Sepilok (in Sabah) are amazing, and Tioman is also well-regarded for diving.
Other places where your visit shouldn’t coincide with too much rain include Thailand’s Gulf Coast (I’ve done a post on this before if you look under Thailand) and Indonesia – though the wildlife opportunities in Malaysia are definitely a bit better and easier to access.

Great suggestions, thanks!! I will look into these and email if I have more questions.
Cheers and thanks again!
